The Nursery School is an educational outreach ministry of St. John’s United Church of Christ and does model Christian values and tolerance. Although simple prayers will be shared, the program is not intended to be a religious educational program. Parents desiring formal religious education for their children are encouraged to explore Sunday church school programs.

The purpose of St. John’s Nursery School is to provide an organized learning environment in which children will grow and learn physically, socially and mentally. We believe it is appropriate to teach young children by example. To this end, we provide a loving atmosphere which promotes sharing and caring for others.
St. John’s Nursery School is a private preschool that offers a wide selection of classes to meet the needs of children 2 years through 5 years of age. We offer small class sizes to promote big growth, taught by a fun and engaging staff. Our curriculum focuses on all aspects of early childhood development and is coordinated with and complements the kindergarten program of the Chambersburg Area School District.

* Classes are subject to change based on enrollment.
2-YEAR-OLD OPTIONS
(For 2-year-old classes, child does NOT need to be bathroom independent. Pull-ups are permitted.)
Option 1: 2-day Class — meets Tue & Thu — 9:30-11:30 — $120/month
Option 2: 2-day Class — meets Mon & Wed — 9:30-11:30 — $115/month
3-YEAR-OLD OPTIONS
(For all 3-year-old classes, child MUST be bathroom independent. NO pull-ups are permitted.)
Option 1: 2 day Class — meets Tue & Thu — 9:30-12:00 — $128/month
Option 2: 2 day Extended Class — meets Tue & Thu — 9:30-1:30 (child brings lunch) — $205/month
Option 3: 3 day Class — meets Mon, Wed & Fri — 9:30-12:00 — $178/month
* If you desire a 5 day program, you may register your child for both a 2 day AND a 3 day class. *
4/5-YEAR-OLD OPTIONS
(For all 4/5-year-old classes, child MUST be bathroom independent. NO pull-ups are permitted.)
Option 1: 2 day Class — meets Tue & Thu — 9:30-1:30 (child brings lunch) — $205/month
Option 2: 3 day Class — meets Mon, Wed & Fri — 9:30-1:30 (child brings lunch) — $286/month
Option 3: 5 day Class — meets Mon – Thu — 9:30-1:30 (child brings lunch) & Fri — 9:30-12:00 — $457/month
* If you desire a longer 5 day program, you may register your child for both a 2 day AND a 3 day class. *
**We welcome 5 year olds not yet ready to enter Kindergarten**
Enrollment Info:
- Registration opens for current Nursery School families and Church members on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
- Registration open to the public on Monday, March 2, 2026.
- All children must meet the age requirement by September 1st, 2026.
- A $50 non-refundable registration fee must be submitted with each registration form.
- Tuition cost is based on the number of days/hours students are scheduled to attend.
- For the safety of all the children, St. John’s Nursery School is a NUT-FREE facility.
- Potty-Training:
- For All By Myself, the child does NOT need to be bathroom independent. Diapers/Pull-Ups are permitted.
- For all 3 and 4/5-year-old classes, the child MUST be bathroom independent. NO Pull-Ups are permitted.
